1 box yellow cake mix (I got the Betty Crocker Super Moist brand 3 eggs, 1/2 cup oil, 1 cup water) 1 crushed king size Butterfinger bar (It calls for 1 but we used 2-3, depends on preference) 1 small 14oz can sweetened condensed milk (Eagle brand is the best it'll be next to the other condensed milks, it'll be in the can on a shelf!) 1 12.25 jar caramel syrup (I used the smuckers brand, it should be next to the ice cream toppings, yes you'll be using the whole jar) 1 Container of Cool Whip (You can find this in the freezer section)
So now that all of that is out of the way, start prepping the cake, those directions will be on the back of the cake box lol, make sure to grease your pan. My favorite thing to do to when i make my cakes i add it with a little extra bit of love, when i grease my pan i'll add sugar to the bottom of the pan cake and make sure the bottom and the sides of the pan have sugar on it then i'll add my batter to it and bake for the appropriate time (It should look like a golden color on the top when the cake is done, if you aren't sure when your cake is done you can always use a toothpick, you'll poke the toothpick and if it comes out with little to no cake on it then it's done and you're ready to go
Once the cake is completely cooked, then you can take it out of the oven and immediately grab a spoon/fork and use the bottom end of the the spoon or the fork and start poking holes into the cake, then once you're finished poking holes in the cake then you'll want to go ahead and let the cake cool down for about 30 minutes. While that's cooling you'll start prepping a few other things: You'll grab your butterfingers put them in a Ziploc freezer bag and grab a rolling pin and start smashing them up until you have smaller chunks of butterfingers while that's done you'll grab your sweetened condensed milk and your caramel and pour both of them into a mixing bowl, I used my hand mixer to mix them together, you can use just a spoon if you want I just did it because it was a bit faster, mix them together until its just on color, it'll look like a light caramel color when finished. While this is all happening make sure that you're Cool Whip is defrosted.
Now that it's been 30 Minutes you'll grab your cake and pour your mixed caramel and condensed milk on the top at first it will look like it's overflowing but after a few seconds the cake will absorb them like a sponge, once you've poured it all then you'll be set for the next step : Grab a rubber spatula if you have one if not a butter knife will do the job as well, get your cool whip and spread it all over the top of cake as if it's frosting. Once completely covered then you'll grab your crushed up butterfingers and sprinkle them all over the top of the cake, and Voila you have your slice of heaven right in the comfort of your home! :) Enjoy!
